Layouts and Photos from July Crop

A big thanks to all the ladies that came to our first crop last Saturday – you were all great company and made it a busy but fabulous day.

Everyone seemed to appreciate the excellent hall we had for the day – it had loads of space, lots of natural light, great facilities and even a few hares running around the field outside. There was tea, coffee and cake provided as well as a Cricut Expression 2 with some cartridges, a complete set of Sew Easy tools and a Big Shot with some dies for people to use.

We offered a kit based on the brand new Kaisercraft Blae & Ivy collection which almost everyone took. The kit included simple instructions for a couple of layouts called Peaceful and Ice-cream. Some people adapted the design to suit their pictures and some even added stitching using the Sew Easy tools.

July Crop – Sneak Peeks

We’ve been working hard to make sure that we are ready for the Merly Impressions Crop next weekend. For those who choose to purchase the optional kit, as promised here are some sneak peaks of two layouts using the crop kit.

The kit will include papers from the recently released Kaisercraft Blae & Ivy collection as well as matching embellishments and matching Bazzill cardstock. We have put together two layouts based on the kit ( with careful cutting you should be able to produce both layouts with a single kit) although you are, of course, free to adapt them in any way you wish.

For the first layout (“Peaceful”), you will need either three photo’s each about 5.5cm wide by 7.5cm high or one long photo of about 16.5cm wide by 7.5cm high (which you can optionally cut into three to create a panoramic trio as I have done). The colour scheme for this layout is Blue, Grey, Cream and Beige.

For the second layout (“Ice Cream”), I have used three small 5cm x 5cm square photo’s and one 10.5cm x 10.5cm square photo. I chose to print my photos in black & white but photos to match the colour scheme of Blue, Grey, Cream, Beige and a touch of Green would work equally well.

There is some stitching on both layouts using the Sew Easy tool (which we will bring along) but this is entirely optional. Everything used on the layouts will be supplied – you only have to bring along your usual scrapping tools and a needle if you want to do the stitching. The flowers on the layouts are made using Sizzix dies and a Big Shot machine both of which will be available at the crop. We’ll also bring a variety of other dies for the Big Shot as well as a Cricut Expression 2 with a few cartridges.

The crop kit will come complete with instructions and photo’s of the finished layouts. We will bring enough kits for everyone.

See you all on the 16th of July.

July Crop Kit

We’ve been working on preparations for the Merly Impressions Crop on 16th July and we thought we would give you some idea about the kit we will be offering.

The kit will include four papers, a sticker sheet and colour rub-ons from the newly released Blae and Ivy Collection from Kaisercraft. It will also include Bazzill cardstock and Kaisercraft Rhinestones to match the papers. During the crop we will be using some tools (which we will provide) to create matching flower embellishments, a title and maybe even some stitched effects. We’ll post some images to give more idea of the finished projects over the next week.

July Crop Kit

The individual parts of the kit are valued at over £11 but, for those attending the crop, we will be charging only £9.00. Note that the kit is entirely optional – if you prefer to work on your own projects, please feel free to do so.

The crop will take place on Saturday 16th July 10am – 4pm at Renhold Village Hall, Wilden Road, Renhold, Bedford, MK41 OLY. The hall is set in a lovely village location surrounded by open fields and has windows on both sides which let in loads of natural light ideal for crafting.

The cost is £5.00 per person – this includes your crafting space, together with tea, coffee and refreshments. Please feel free to bring any other snacks to nibble on. You will also need to bring your own packed lunch.

If you are interested in booking a place at the crop please email us at Please also let us know if you would be interested in purchasing the optional kit and if you are coming with a friend or two let us know and we will seat you all together.

We will of course be bringing our lovely Kaisercraft & non Kaisercraft goodies for you to purchase. We stock a HUGE selcetion of Kaisercraft products so if there is anything in particular you would like to see, please feel free to email and we will bring it (we stock hundreds of products and may not be able to bring them all).

We will also have a tool table which will include the new Cricut Expression 2 and a few carts, a Big Shot and some dies and a few other bits and pieces.
