January 18th 2020 – Merly Crop Layouts & kit Sneak Peeks

Hi Everyone,

With just under a week to go until our first crop of 2020, here are the details of the crop and sneak peeks and details of the layouts that you will be able to create using the kit. For the kit I have used the lovely Everlasting Kaisercraft collection.

For the kit you will get the Everlasting Paper Pack which includes 12 sheets of paper and a sticker sheet, you will also receive 2 skeins of DMC thread, an extra sheet of paper and some Kaisercard……and the usual detailed instructions with coloured photo’s for you to follow, so you can create the two layouts that I have designed, at your own pace. There is a third bonus layout which you can create if you like from the leftovers. Bring your phone to take a photo of it at the crop (as there are no instructions) there will also be a full image of it on the website and on the blog after the crop.

Below are some sneak peeks & details of the first layout which I’ve called All of me loves all of you

This layout features the pastel greens & peaches from the collection – I have fussy cut the gorgeous white flowers, there are also lots of layers and colour coordinating stitching. I have added a few rhinestones from my own stash. The photo measures about 9cm wide x about 11cm high.

Below are some sneak peeks of the second layout which I’ve called Best Moments”

For this layout I’ve focussed on using the kraft & cream coloured papers from the collection, with a pop of black and pink. The layout features lots of fussy cut leaves, birds and flowers, hand stitching – all this layered around the fussy cut lacy borders. My photo measures about 12cm x 12cm. I have also added “lippy red” rhinestones (from my own stash, but you will be available to purchase these at the crop you want)

Here are the sneak peeks of the extra third layout, if you would like to create it from the leftovers.

The layout features fussy cut pale pink flowers, I’ve used one full piece of paper and the leftovers. There won’t be instructions, so bring your phone to take a pic – however there will also be a full image on the blog & website. My gorgeous photo measures 10cm wide x 13cm high!!! If you want to do the punching please bring your own punch.

Other items used which you may want to bring are a needle for sewing (if you want to do it) foam pads and a small pair of scissors as there is a lot of fussy cutting on all the layouts. We will however have a selection of Foam dots/roll, available to purchase in the on site Merly shop.

I have used the WRMK Sew Easy Tool, we will however bring this item to the crop for people to use. Please note: If you want to do the punching on the extra layout, please bring your own punch, my MS punches won’t be available to use at the crop anymore. Similar punches will also work. I have used the MS Garden Trellis Deep Edge punch.

The location of the crop, together with other details and future dates can be found on our Crop Dates page. We also have a crop/retreat facebook page, where you can see more sneak peeks of these layouts – and details of up and coming events and where you can also post your finished layouts.

At the crop we will also have our usual FABULOUS Merly Impressions Shop where you can purchase all the latest Kaisercraft goodies, including the new December & January Kaisercraft collections and the three brand New ScrapBoys collections

Extra kits will also be available to purchase at the crop. Just ask Paul for them. The usual supply of tea, coffee and a selection of biscuits, chocolates, snacks & homemade cakes will be available throughout the day. You will need to bring your own lunch and your usual supply of crafting tools.

See you all on Saturday 18th January 2020!!! at 10am (not before, unless you have been asked to help, as we will be very, very busy getting ready, please wait outside if you do turn up early) – until 4pm.  The cost for the day & kit is £30.00 payable on the day, we take cash and/or cards.

For anyone who can not attend the crop, the kit will be available to purchase the day after the crop over on the website. The cost for this kit is £17.00

See you all on Saturday 10am.

Happy scrapping, hugs,

“Love Means Forever” with Everlasting

Hello Kaisercraft fans!

Emmy here today sharing my last project for this month featuring the wonderful Everlasting collection from Kaisercraft (available at Merly Impressions online store) and a lot of fussy cut flowers and different embellishments.

MI-Forever-web530To create my background I used the Damask flocked paper and the Be Mine die-cut paper. First, I fussy cut the frame from the die-cut paper and then I adhered it to the flocked paper with Mounting Foam TapeMI-Forever-det-a

I layered my picture on a slightly larger off-white panel made from the inside of the Be Mine die-cut paper. I added glossy stripes and paper doilies from the Paper Pad and the Collectables packMI-forever-det-b

Then I fussy cut the flowers and the sentiment from the Amore pattern paper and from different pattern papers from the Paper Pad. I embossed them slightly, arranged them around my picture and adhered them using Kaisercraft 12mm Double-sided Tape and Mounting Foam TapeMI-forever-det-c MI-forever-det-dI used die cut shapes from the Collectables pack and stickers from the Sticker Sheet to decorate my page. “Forever and Always” with Everlasting

Hello Kaisercraft fans!

Emmy here today sharing my second layout featuring the amazing Everlasting collection from Kaisercraft’s newest release (available at Merly Impressions online store). This week I decided to use mint and kraft as main colours for my project, instead pink and kraft as I did last time and as you can see below – it still looks very good! MI-forever-always-web530For my background I used the Bloom pattern paper and a 16 x 30 cm stripe from the Admirer pattern paper. I distressed their edges using a Paper Distresser and a paper piercing tool. Before adhering the Admirer stripe onto the Bloom pattern paper, I added a layer of Cheesecloth Gauze and a fussy cut edge from pattern paper from the Paper Pad.

Once everything was secured with Kaisercraft 12mm Double-sided Tape, I added a dimesional white layer using Texture paste and Elegant 6×6 Designer Stencil. When the Texture paste has dried I sprinkled KaiserMist Spray Ink – Rose Gold and KaiserMist Spray Ink – White on top.MI-forever-always-det-a MI-forever-always-det-b MI-forever-always-det-c MI-forever-always-det-dTo create the layers under my picture I used stripes of glossy paper from the Paper Pad, which I punched using an edge punch. Then I added stickers and different pre cut elements from the Paper Pad and the Collectables pack. MI-forever-always-det-e MI-forever-always-det-fTo decorate my page I added paper flowers (Paper Blooms – SagePaper Blooms – Coconut and Mini Paper Blooms – Sage) and more of the pre-cut embellishments from the Collectables pack. I adhered everything using Mounting Foam TapeMI-forever-always-det-gMI-forever-always-det-iI die cut the leafy swirls using Kaisercard Snow Weave Cardstock and Kaisercraft Decorative Die Foliage. MI-forever-always-det-hFor my title I used a saying from the Sticker Sheet.

As a final touch I added Rhinestones – Silver, Rhinestones – Island Lagoon and Epoxy Stickers – MonochromeMI-forever-always-det-jI hope I managed to inspire you today!

Have a wonderful creative week!

“More than Yesterday” with Everlasting

Hello Kaisercraft fans!

Emmy here today with my first post for 2019! This month I have the pleasure of designing with one of the newest Kaisercraft collections – Everlasting (available at Merly Impressions online store). This collection features vintage florals and lace patterned images in a soft colour palette of mint and blush. And it is perfectly compatible with a wide range of different Kaisercraft products! MI-more-than-yesterday-web530For my background I used a 12″ Corrugated Cardboard Sheet from Kaisercraft. Using a sponge a smudged a bit of Texture paste to soften the colour and then I sprinkled KaiserMist Spray Ink – Rose Gold and KaiserMist Spray Ink – Antique Gold on top.

To create the layers under my pictures I used glossy papers from the Paper PadCheesecloth Gauze and pre cut elements from the Paper Pad and die cut ones (smooth white cardstock and Decorative Die – Texture Woven). MI-more-than-yesterday-det-b

I added different paper flowers (Mini Paper Blooms – Fairy Floss) and fussy cut images (Amore pattern paper) around my pictures. I added also some nice quotes from the Collectables pack. I embossed the fussy cut flowers slightly and adhered everything using Mounting Foam TapeMI-more-than-yesterday-det-c MI-more-than-yesterday-det-e

I fussy cut paper doilies from the Admirer pattern paper and stickers from the Sticker SheetMI-more-than-yesterday-det-e MI-more-than-yesterday-det-d

For my title I used the cut off stripe from one of the pattern papers. I adhered it with Mounting Foam Tape to my background. MI-more-than-yesterday-det-g

As a final touch I added Kaisercraft Sparkles – Crimson and Rhinestones – ChampagneMI-more-than-yesterday-det-h
