Christmas Cards with a bit of Sparkle

Hello everyone,

Denise here with my last project using the amazingly glittery Glisten Kaisercraft Collection

photo-24-11-2016-14-57-07-2 photo-24-11-2016-14-57-21-2I had a free choice to do whatever I liked this time so I decided to make two cards, one gold tones and one silver tones.

I started off with the wooden snowflakes. In  order to make them a bit sparkly I used some gold embossing powder and heat embossed them to make them ‘glisten’ photo-23-11-2016-14-00-16 photo-23-11-2016-14-05-27I then cut some squares of various papers from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad for mats and layers on my card – I distressed the edges of the papers with scissors.photo-23-11-2016-19-42-33Next I threaded some Gold Metallic Hemp Cord through the holes in the snowflakes.

I used half a Gold Doily in between the layers of papers at the side.

photo-23-11-2016-19-39-44I then stuck a border strip from the sticker sheet across the top.

Next I chose a sentiment from one of the papers Incandescent Foil  and matted it onto some of the amazingly sparkly Gold Glitter Card.photo-23-11-2016-19-50-10To put it all together I wrapped the twine over the back of the layered paper and secured with double sided tape on the back and a gold bow was added.

The second card

photo-24-11-2016-14-57-21-2I used some papers from the 6.5  x 6.5 paper pad again as my base layers, then a strip of snowflakes was  added from the sticker sheet along the bottom.

sticker-sheet-glisten-collectionNext I wrapped some Gold Twine around the card and secured at the back with double sided tape.

I used a giant snowflake from the Collectables Pack, added some glue then sprinkled glitter over to make it sparkle.

photo-23-11-2016-23-17-45This was raised on foam tape onto a die cut oval of cream card as my main image.

Finally some silver gems were added to finish off at the top and bottom.

Thanks for popping over and do come back soon to see some more inspiration from the team.

Celebrate the Season with Glisten

Hello everyone,

Well the countdown to you know what seems to be happening so it was lovely to create a Christmas layout with the fabulous Glisten Kaisercraft Collection.

053I was really having a problem choosing which papers to use as they are all so gorgeous and luxurious.

I started off using Gleaming foil paper as my base. I gutted it so there was a one inch frame left then cut Vanilla Weave Kaisercard down to mat over the frame.

042I then used some Texture Paste through a Tim Holtz Crackle layering stencil  to add some texture at the corners.

Once this was dry I cut down  some of the papers from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad to add across the middle, using a bauble one to mat my photo.

044There are some amazing co -ordinating  glittery products to go with this collection, one of them being the Gold Doilies and one of them being the yummy Golden Glitter Cardstock

I used one of the doilies by cutting it in half then tucking the two halves behind the paper mats and indulged myself with the glitter cardstock by die cutting some reindeer and swirls to embellish the layout

050048I used some of the die cuts and words from the Collectables Pack to layer up and embellish round the edges and corners

052

049These were all layered up with Foam Tape – something I could absolutely not live without !

Finally I used a tag from the collecatbles pack at the top left with some of the gorgeous new Metallic Hemp Cord through it.

047I really hope you’ve enjoyed this project as it was a pleasure to create and this is a really inspiring  collection.

Golden Glisten Collection Scrapbook layout

Hi all,

Sometimes you come across a collection that really inspires you.. and the Kaisercraft Glisten Collection is most certainly one of those collections.

gold-layout……and in particular the stunning Glittering Foil Paper with amazing foiled golden stars.  I also loved the Glimmer foil paper with lots of starry lights. I first drew an ‘organically’ shaped Christmas tree and cut it out.

christmas-tree-templateI then added sparkles using the new, fabulous, Kaiser Gel pens and gold stickles.

gold-close-up-tree

I then ‘decorated’ the tree with a star from the Collectables Pack , some Honey coloured Paper Blooms.

Next I matted the photo, of my own tree, on some Coconut weave cardstock  and punched some stars on the border and double matted the photo on a sheet of paper from the collection.

I then took the gorgeous Crystal glitter paper, the Gleaming Foil Paper and the reverse of the Glimmer Foil Paper and layered each piece on more of the Coconut cardstock whilst tucking in a gold paper doily behind the layers.

gold-close-upI added some of the new Hemp cord and made a ‘string’ of decorations using several of the baubles from the collectables pack. I then added a star and a saying from the pack at the bottom and I made a tassel from the hemp cord to add to the bottom. I also added two strings of metallic hemp around the photo too and some of the small black and gold sayings from the 6″ paper pad.

I also used two of the wood flourishes from the Christmas Flourish Pack and added gold glitter to them. I then added a quote from the collectables pack at the bottom of the tree and added a final gold deer from the pack and another gold glittered deer wood flourish ‘prancing’ off the patterned papers. To finish I punched two sections of starry punch and added two strips of the black and gold paper from the pad.

True Love – Always and Forever

Hello Everyone,

Linda here with another layout using the fabulous Always and Forever from Kaisercraft.

IMG_1018 smallI started with some Vanilla Kaisercard and one of my favourite Martha Stewart deep edge punches. This was layered onto Commitment which I gutted 2″ from the edge.

IMG_1021 smallMy photograph is 4×4″ square, matted with Licorice Kaisercard and Champagne Glitter card, and placed onto a 7″ square of Lovable, using the floral edge at the bottom and an 8″ square of Promise.

IMG_1020 smallI cut a doily from the Crochet gloss paper and tinted it with distress ink, then placed under the top right of the photo matts with a doily and sentiment from the Collectables.

IMG_1022 smallA lovely Lacey strip was added from the sticker sheet and a sentiment matted the same as my photo – this was raised on mounting foam tape.  Lots of beautiful roses were then cut from Eternal, shaped and raised on mounting foam tape, underneath my photograph. A sprinkling of Stickles to enhance.

IMG_1019 smallA smaller cluster was added top right of the photo. To finish I added gems to the outside punched edge, and some Sparklets to my photo matts.

Thank-you for taking the time to read, don’t forget to check back later for more beautiful pages from the DT.

Until then, take care,

Wild and Free Like the Sea with Mermaid Tails

Good morning,

Denise here with two little creations using the lovely  Mermaid Tails  Kaisercraft collection.

041032We had to opportunity to do anything we liked for one of our posts this month so I decided to make a quick card and a layout focusing on using the Collectables . How versatile and useful these are – I just love opening the pack and tipping them all out to sift through them and find what I’m going to use.

The colours in this collection are so pretty lovely lilacs and blues and greens. For my card I used a piece of Coconut Weave Kaisercard that I had made into a 6 x 6 card . I layered some beautiful Splash Glitter Card together with some of the turtle paper from the 6.5 x6.5 paper  pad. I also used some of  a shell border sticker from the sticker sheet across the middle. The sentiment was also from the paper pad.

Finally time for some fussy cutting !034sssThese were cut out from one of the 12 x 12 papers – Deep Sea.

Next – for the layout I started with the very wavy and gorgeous Ripples paper to give it a lovely sea like feel. I cut a strip 5 x 12 from the Sea Turtle paper and placed this across the top .

To mat my photo I used three papers from the 6.5 x6.5 paper pad placed them in layers across the turtles strip. I cut a strip from the Marine paper then cut a banner end and this was layered beside the photo. I punched along another strip cut from one of the 6.5 x 6.5  paper pad pages and tucked this under the top together with some wording cut from one of the manufacturer’s strips along the bottom and some anchor stickers from the sticker sheet.

031aI used some more of the papers to cut some strips with banner ends at the bottom – these were layered on to more die cut elements from the 6.5 x 6.5  paper pad and placed at the bottom of the layout.mt44Finally some more elements from the Collectables pack were layered around my photo to finish off.031aI hope you’ve enjoyed our projects so far – there are lots more to come from the other lovely ladies on the team

Truly Madly Deeply – Always and Forever

Hi Everyone,

Linda here with a layout using the beautiful Always and Forever by Kaisercraft. Is it just me or do you all want to sing the song now? (Must be my age lol!)

Anyway, I wanted to focus on the stamp set this time as it has the most beautiful rose image.

IMG_1012 smallI began with a sheet of Kaisercard in vanilla and stamped the bottom right corner with “always and forever” (singing again!” in black archival ink using the stamp set, plus “xo” around the edge. (XO = hugs and kisses in case you were unsure not OXO cubes 🙂 )

On a piece of smooth white card, I stamped “you + me” plus the rose six times. I tinted the words with Antique Linen Distress ink and trimmed, the roses were coloured with Spiced Marmalade, Carved Pumpkin, Dried Marigold, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss – blended together with a water brush. I left these aside to dry.

IMG_1013 smallOnto the papers now, I cut Romance 8×6″ and matted with 1/4″ border onto Kaisercard Licorice. Have you seen the stunning glitter card? Wow! I cut a piece of Champagne 6×6″ and backed it with Licorice also – in fact everything has been! Then a piece of Admire 5×6″. My photo is 4×4″.

IMG_1014 smallI cut two roses out in full, then just the bud and finally one petal, these were layered using mounting foam. I also cut extra leaves, one set to layer and one to embellish.

IMG_1016 smallA quick spritz of Antique Gold Kaisermist diagonally onto the Vanilla base, then I was ready to place all the layers. You can see they have been overlapped in blocks – I love the black borders as they separate and define the beautiful papers.

Truly Madly Deeply is from the Sticker sheet and I had to have more bling, so layered this and the “you + me” I’d stamped onto the Champagne and also Licorice, then theses were raised on mounting foam and placed onto the page to “anchor” down the roses and extra leaves.

Finally a touch of glitter pen to the rose petal and a couple of Coral Sparklets and I was done.

Thank-you for taking the time to read this, check back later for more inspiration from the DT.

Until then, take care,

~Linda~

Make Me a Mermaid with Mermaid Tails

Hello everyone,

Denise here with my first creation using the swimmingly gorgeous Mermaid Tails  Kaisercraft collection.

13335652_10153650730207844_2478854713559161154_n-2Merly Impressions took delivery of some lovely Kaisercraft  glitter card recently and I used the gorgeous Splash colour glitter card on this layout. I started by cutting two one inch strips from the glitter card then stuck them at the top and bottom of the  Coconut Weave Cardstock .

061

062Next I took the Seahorse Embossing Folder and using the glitter card again I embossed the Seahorse then carefully cut around it.057I then cut half an inch from the top of the Sea Foam paper and stuck it onto the white card base overlapping the glitter card top and bottom.

Next I took the Sea Foam paper, cut one inch from the top and cut carefully around the top of the mermaid up her arm and along to her hand 058This paper was placed onto the card base sticking only the top and bottom

Some sheets from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad were used as a base for my photo which was matted on to white card.063I used a die cut of a tail from the Collectables Pack to make a tail.

I cut a strip of glitter card and cut a wavy top line then tucked it under the mermaid and placed the mats and photo above it on the layout.

Then I embellished with the seahorse, some collectables and dotted some paint around the layout.074222074222Thank you for visiting and do pop back soon for some more inspiration from the team using the latest Kaisercraft collections
