Cockatoo Christmas

Hi Everyone,

Today I would like to share a layout that I created using the UNDER THE GUM LEAVES Collection by Kaisercraft. This collection really inspired to hunt down some “Old Aussie Christmas” photo’s from my childhood. This one contains a photo taken on Christmas morning after Santa had left our Christmas present in the paddock. Here I have focused on using representing the Cockatoo in this layout as these birds can be very cheeky in nature, which connects to the children playing. They also appear to be looking eagerly and awaiting their turn to play.

To create this Layout I followed the following steps:

  1. Trim BOTTLE BRUSH – UNDER THE GUM LEAVES COLLECTION to 30.5 x 30.5 cm and cut out the centre to get a piece that is 22 x 22 cm. Distress the edges with PAPER DISTRESSER and ink with KAISERINK PAD – FOREST and an ink blending tool.20190921_092252
  2. Using KAISERINK PAD – FOREST and an ink blending tool, transfer the GUM LEAF MINI DESIGNER STENCIL pattern onto the smaller piece of BOTTLE BRUSH – UNDER THE GUM LEAVES COLLECTION20190921_093019
  3. Cut GOLDEN GLITTER CARDSTOCK to 23.5 x 23.5 cm and KAISERCARD CACTUS WEAVE CARDSTOCK to 24.5 x 24.5 cm. Distress the edges with PAPER DISTRESSER and ink with KAISERINK PAD – FOREST and an ink blending tool.
  4. Attach the smallBOTTLE BRUSH – UNDER THE GUM LEAVES COLLECTION to the GOLDEN GLITTER CARDSTOCK . Attach this combination to the KAISERCARD CACTUS WEAVE CARDSTOCK. Foam tape (or Cardboard and tape) this tripled layer to the lagerBOTTLE BRUSH – UNDER THE GUM LEAVES COLLECTION. Using a paint brush and KAISERMIST SPRAY INK – YELLOW 50ML, paint some additional wattle flowers onto the background.20190921_100314
  5. Fussy cut the Cockatoo, leaves and wattle flowers from Cockatoo paper. MOUNTING FOAM TAPE to the left hand side of the centre BOTTLE BRUSH – UNDER THE GUM LEAVES COLLECTION. Frame photo (15.4 x 10.2 cm) with the green and red striped paper from the PAPER PAD – UNDER THE GUM LEAVES COLLECTION.20190921_132647
  6. Embellish layout with another cockatoo and messages from the PAPER PAD – UNDER THE GUM LEAVES COLLECTION, stickers from the STICKER BOOK – UNDER THE GUM LEAVES COLLECTION, RHINESTONES – DEEP YELLOW and clear glitter glue.

European Journey

Hi everyone,

I am very excited to have to opportunity to share my work with you this month! Here is one of my layouts, “European Journey”, using the Kaisercraft Journey Collection. I fell in love with the books from the Globe Trotter paper and the collectables. I thought I would make an “explorer desk” kind of layout with many photos to be documented.
I have cut 2x KAISERCARD SHADOW WEAVE CARDSTOCK to 30.5 x 30.5 cm. Next I cut Tourist paper to 28 cm x 28 cm and then it cut diagonally. To the middle of the double layout, I attached the Tourist triangles to form a diagonal strip. I then used 2.5 cm x 30 cm strips of Traveler paper to top and bottom frame to the layout. I left approximately 5 mm from the outsides of the layout when sticking these down.

Using a Navy Ink and a Tim Holtz Stencil, I inked diagonally along the edges of the Traveler paper. I roughly stamped over the blue inking using the KAISERINK PAD – CHOCOLATE  and a script stamp. Next I cut out the books from Roamer paper and layered them on the top left and bottom right of the double layout.

I have cut 6 pieces of KAISERCARD SNOW WEAVE CARDSTOCK at 5.4 cm x 8.4 cm and cut out the centers to create polaroid-like frames. Then I Attached photos to the back of the frames. I stuck the framed photos on top of the books, as though they have fallen there. Next I embellished with the collectables. For the final steps, I cut out 24 crosses from Vagabond paper and foam tape 6 crosses in a line from both bottom corners and 12 on the top, in the middle of the top. Added some RHINESTONES – DARK BLUE, ivory string and KAISERMIST SPRAY INK – NAVY 50ML splatters to finish.

Happy scrapbooking!!

Be Happy with Paisley Days

Karen here with my first May project and for this page I have used the very bright and bold Paisley Days collection.

Be Happy

The items I have used are Snow Weave cardstock, Groovy paper (reverse side), Positivity paper, 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad, Collectables, Clear Stamps, Flower Cluster die, Teal PearlsDeep Yellow Rhinestones, KaiserMist in Rose Gold, Kaiser Ink Pads and Kaiserfusion Pens.

I started by gutting a 1.5 inch frame from the Positivity paper.  I then cut 1 inch from the bottom and one side of the Snow Weave cardstock and mounted this on top of the Positivity frame. The next step was to cut 1.5 inches from the bottom and one side of the Groovy paper (reverse side), which was mounted on top of the white card. I also cut a 5in and a 4 in circle from two papers from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad and stuck these centrally to my page.

I flicked Rose Gold Kaisermist liberally onto my page.

Next, I die cut six Flower Clusters from white card and arrange them around the 5 inch circle. I stamped one of the flowers from the Clear Stamps six times with black ink and coloured with  Kaiserfusion Pens.

The stamp set has a really fun butterfly which you build up using three stamps in different colours.

I stamped three different colourways of the butterfly, fussy cut and added these, and the flowers to the outside of the circle of die cut Flower Clusters.   I added a 4in x 4in photograph to the centre and embellished the diecuts with Teal Pearls and Deep Yellow Rhinestones.

Finally, I used  Collectables to add my title to the top left of the page and a small cluster to the bottom right.

I hope I have inspired you to buy some of this gorgeous collection to play with and will be back soon with another project using Paisley Days.
