Layouts & Photos from March 2016 Crop

Many thanks to everyone who attended our March 2016 Merly crop.

We had another really fabulous day with lots of crafting, chatting more chatting and eating Paul’s fabulous cakes. We hope everyone who attended the crop also enjoyed the day as much as we did and enjoyed making the double page layout.

For the March kit I decided to use the beautiful “Story Book” Kaisercraft collection and a couple of papers from the older “In the Attic” collection. Included in the kit are instructions and stash to make the layouts that I called:

“Break the Rules”

My idea from the start was to create a double page layout and when put together formed a heart shape that wrapped around the photo’s of (Merley) my daughter, I hope I have achieved that, so here is the left hand layout……

and right hand layout……

right-layout-1200………..and here is the completed double page layout – I think it worked.

double-layout-1400The kit is now available to purchase in the Merly Impressions on-line shop – it can be found in the Layout Kits section of the website.

It was another very busy crop and it was good to catch up with everyone. We also had some new ladies attend this month and we hope to see them again soon.

Many thanks to Paul for making his fabulous Lemon & Cherry cakes for us to snack on they all went down a treat.

See you all again in May and we look forward to seeing your finished layouts using this kit over on the Merly Crop Facebook page.

Many thanks,

Happy scrapping!

March 2016 Crop – Layout Preview

Hi everyone,

Just a week to go until the March Merly Crop, so here are the details and sneak peeks of the layouts that you will be able to create using the crop kit.

The kit uses some of the papers from the lovely “Story Book” Kaisercraft collection. The complete collection features a masculine colour palette and heritage prints to bring a touch of the literary to your scrapbooking. Also supplied in the kit are red rhinestones, Kaisercard and cotton.

This month I have created a double page layout which I’ve called  “Break the Rules” each layout uses 2 (of the same) photo so four in total measuring 8cm wide x 12cm high. You can use four different photo’s if you wish.

Here are the sneak peeks…..

march-kit-1a…….below you can see how the two layouts meet and join up in the middle.

march-kit-2aOther items used on the layouts which you will need to bring are a red ink pad for inking round the edges and foam pads (or your choice of item) for layering. You will also need a needle for sewing (if you want to do it) and a small pair of scissors because there is a lot of fussy cutting on both of the layouts. We will however have a selection of ink pads & Foam dots/roll available to purchase in the on site Merly shop.

march-kit-3I have also used the “Fishing Net” Kaisercraft Decorative Die & “Ornate Charm” Decorative Die (above) these will be available to use on the day for our croppers. However for anyone purchasing the kits on-line after the crop these will be pre-cut and will be included in the kit.

We will bring our usual supply of tools, including the Sew Easy Tools (which are also used on the layouts), Big Shot & Dies to the crop if people would like to use them to create their own title or cut out other embellishments.

For anyone who cannot join us on the day, the kit will be available to purchase online the day after the crop. It will contain detailed instructions for you to complete the double page layout.

The location of the crop, together with other details and future dates can be found on our Crop Dates page.

There will also be the usual FABULOUS Merly Impressions Shop where you can purchase all the latest Kaisercraft goodies. Paul will be making a selection of yummy cakes, We will also bring biscuits, chocolates, tea and coffee. Please bring your own lunch.

See you all on Saturday 19th March 2016 at 10am until 5pm. The cost for the day & kit is £20.00, payable on the day.

Happy scrapping!!
