Hi there!

This month has been lovely because I’ve got to use the gorgeous Teddy Bear’s Picnic collection, this is my last layout using the collection.   I did a more simple layout this time, as I used a more ornate paper and wanted to show more of the paper, so i didn’t want the paper or photo to compete with each other. The photo used was of my sons bear called simply, Ted.  Ted was given to my son as a baby, and has been at his side since.  He’s a very well travelled bear and has been to AFC in Harrogate, to the war front in Afghanistan, also two tours of Canada to skiing in Austria.  Ted’s very well travelled!

The paper used was Bear Hug.  I didn’t want to put too much on this lovely paper, so tried to simplife my layout.  I used a lot of the gorgeous collectables raising them to give a 3D effect using  Mounting Foam dots.  Ornate strips from the 6×6 pad was used on the top and bottom of the photo, plus a strip I cut of a sheet of 12×12.  A rosette was added to the top using a piece of Bear love and a collectable, the Teddy image was from the clear stamp set.  As a final touch of sparkle Rhinestones in Bronze.

I hope you enjoyed my post!

A Teddy Bear’s Picnic layout

Hi there!

Once again perfect photos for a perfect collection – Teddy Bear’s Picnic.

For the base of the layout I used a sheet of Kaisercard in Coffee Bean, its a perfect colour to go with the Teddy Bear’s Picnic Collection.  I cut two strips of Patchwork paper and glued them top and bottom of the card.  I then cut out the teddy bears from the Collection paper and fussy cut around the paws, to make it look as if they’re  sitting on a shelf.   This was glued to the bottom of the Patchwork paper.  On the top strip I also took the Teddy bears  from the Parade paper and stuck them down.  It’s a lovely balance of Teddies.  I mounted my photos of my Grandson in his outfit onto a sheet of Kaisercard in Stone. On the top and bottom strips is a gorgeous piece of velvet ribbon in Brown from the Sew Ribbon.  It adds a really nice texture. Underneath the photos, I added  a selection of sayings from the Collectables.

I was also given one of the new Decorative Dies-Clock to use. It cuts beautifully and comes mounted on a magnetic sheet!  This was cut and mounted on Foam Dots, and a collectable added.  Finishing touches were used with Rhinestones in Bronze, and Distress Stickles in Brushed Corduroy.  Another really enjoyable layout using Teddy Bear’s Picnic.

I hope you enjoyed my post,

Merly Impressions November 2014 Challenge

Hi everybody! It’s a new month and we are to challenge you once more!

This month we are offering you a sketch challenge drawn by Debs. You can flip or rotate the sketch and your layout can be on any subject but we must be able to recognise that your layout was based on the sketch drawn by Debs.

We are extending this challenge slightly longer than normal – the final date for entries is the 13th of December 2014.

Debs has created a layout to provide a little inspiration:

Hi there!

This month was my turn for the Sketch challenge.  The collection I used for this was the gorgeous  Teddy Bear’s Picnic.  Once again a perfect collection for my young Grandson!  The colours match the toy that my Grandson loves.

Here is my sketch:

For the main paper I used was the Beary Special die-cut paper.  I used three photos and these were mounted on a sheet of Furry and Bear Love cut  to the photo.  I also used these paper to cut the Rosettes.  The rosettes were placed on the photo corners, added to this was Paper Blooms in Sea Breeze.   I wanted a balanced look so used a mix of blooms and rosettes.  The extra look on the rosettes were button stickers from the sticker sheet.

The banners came from the sticker sheet, and were stuck onto twine and tape.  For the title i used words from the Collectables.  Also for the journaling I used a Collectable…the words say all I could want to say about the photos.

I hope you enjoyed my Sketch,
