Beach Days are the Best Days with Uncharted Waters

Hello, Karen here with my last project using the lovely Uncharted Waters collection.  This time I have made a beach themed layout.

I started by trimming .5 ins from the bottom and one side of  the Droplet paper and attached it to a piece of Dewdrop Kaisercard.  I then added some splatters of White Iridescent KaiserMist spray. I used the pennant stickers from the Sticker Book to make an arc at the top left of my page.  I used Sea Breeze pad and the seashell stamp from the clear stamps to create a border and fussy cut this out.  Next I cut along the waves on the Pelagic paper which I added to my page with the seashells added below lifted with some mounting foam dots.

I added a ships wheel, from the Collectables pack, and a Curio to the top left corner. Then I cut a 6.5 x 4.5 piece of Sea Shore paper and stuck it to and a 7in x 5in piece of Swallows paper. These were then tucked, centrally, under the stamped seashells. I used Decorative Dies – Texture Criss Cross and Double Bubble to cut some pieces, to tuck under my photo mount, from the Frost Foil Paper Pad.  At the top of my photo mount I stuck some tabs from the Sticker Book and 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad.  I also cut some little crabs from a sheet from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad and a large crab sticker from the Sticker Book tucked under the stamped seashells.  I then added some Collectables to the bottom right and top left of my photo mount.

I finished off with a sticker from the Sticker Book and some Aqua Rhinestones.

This is such a super range for your summer photos and perfect for beach ones.

Twist and Pop Mini Album with Uncharted Waters.

Hello, Karen here with my second project using Uncharted Waters.  I was really excited to see if I could make a mini album using the instructions here for making a twist and pop card.

I started by cutting a piece of Kaisercraft Snow Weave card into three 12in x 4in pieces to use as my card bases.  I covered the inside of each card with a piece of paper from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad and then made the internal mechanism, using thin white card, as in the instructions above.   The cards were stuck one on top of the other to make a stack of three.  I turned the stack around to make my album landscape rather than portrait and began to decorate it.

I used two pieces of paper from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad to cover the front and back of my album. I then added some stickers from the Sticker Book and some Collectables, a curio,  finishing off with a phrase strip from the bottom of one of the papers.

I decorated my pages with some pieces of paper and pop outs from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad, stickers from the sticker book and a phrase from the Shallows 12 x 12 paper.

My other two pages were decorated in the same way.

I really enjoyed constructing this project and adding photos from when my daughter got engaged earlier in the year. I am going to give it to my mum as a little extra Christmas present.

Seaside Adventures with Uncharted Waters

Hello, Karen here with the first of my projects using Uncharted Waters. It seems strange working with seaside photos when its cold and frosty outside!  For my first project I decided to use an embroidery hoop as a frame for my home decore – I have seen several of these used in this way recently, and was itching to have a go.

IMG_1351 I cut a circle from Pelagic which was .5 inch larger than my inside hoop. To this I added a torn piece of Seashore to the bottom, I though this would look like sand.   Than I snipped all around the edge of the circle and secured it into my hoop.

I used White Iridescent Kaisermist to add splatters all over the papers.

I placed a frame, from the collectables pack, to the top left of my photo and  a ‘Wild and Free’ sticker from the Sticker Book.

I then used phrases from the collectables pack and the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad to create a cluster at the top left of my photo, finishing the cluster with a curio.

On the top left of my frame I used starfish and shells from the collectables pack and the Sticker Book.  I used a die, from my own stash, to cut some ‘seaweed’ from a page out of the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad.

At the bottom of my frame I used collectables and wooden fluorishes, which were raised on foam pads, together with two more pieces of seaweed.

Finally I used a phrase from the Shallows paper for my title.

I really enjoyed making this project and can’t wait to show you what I have made for my second project this month.

Until than I hope you can find some crafty time and I hope I have inspired you to try something different with the Uncharted Waters collection.
