Summer Days with Sunny Village

Hi Everyone,
I hope you have all had good summer capturing memories along the way. I know I certainly have! I have used some of my summer photo’s on this layout that I have created using the Sunny Village Collection by ScrapBoys and the Uniqolour Markers. I fell deeply in love with the sunflowers in this collection. They remind we of summers growing up, my mum always had sunflowers growing in the garden. So I have run with a yellow and brown on white theme with this project.

To create this project I have followed to steps below:

  • Take an acrylic stamping block and a yellow UNIQOLOUR MARKER, scribble onto the block and then use the water brush to water it down as desired, turn the block over and “stamp” the water colour onto the layout. I have added the watercolour on the inside and outside of my inked semi-circles.
  • Fussy cut the two circle frames from SUNNY VILLAGE – PAPER 05, including removing the centres.
  • Size, cut and adhere photos to centre of the frames.
  • Foam tape framed photo to layout, each inside a semi-circle.

I hope I have inspired you to create a layout with the Sunny Village collection to document those memories captured this summer.
Stay Safe and Happy Crafting!

Like A Butterfly with Butterfly Meadow

Hello, Karen here with my first project for September using the Butterfly Meadow collection from ScrapBoys and Uniqolour Paint Markers from Uniquely Creative. These are water soluble real brush tip markers and a joy to use. The Butterfly Meadow is filled with flowers, fruit and butterfly papers – scrumptious.

I started by stamping a verity of butterflies from lots of different Kaisercraft clear stamp sets, using a Stazon ink pad.

In then coloured them by using a Uniqolour Paint Marker by using a marker to add some colour to an acrylic stamping block and then picking the colour up with a water brush to add to my butterflies. This is an excellent video showing this technique.

Once I was happy with my stamped butterflies I then cut all the butterflies (and there were a lot) from the Butterfly Meadow Paper 07. I also cut all the clusters of figs and flowers from Paper 05.

The next step was to lightly draw a circle onto a piece of Kaisercraft white smooth cardstock, with a pencil.

I placed my clusters of flowers and figs around the circle to make a garland and added a 5in x 7 in photo to the centre. The fussy cut and painted butterflies were added to the outside and inside of the garland of flowers with the outer ones flying clockwise and the inner ones flying counter-clockwise.

All that remained for me to do was to add my title (cut from a piece of Orchid Weave cardstock using my Silhouette) and I could call this page finished.

The Uniqolour Paint Markers worked perfectly for this project and I am looking forward to experimenting with different ways of using them on my next page.
